You may have landed on this blog post from a different link to a family or newborn session, and here is the reason why…I am a wedding and boudoir photographer.

When I started my photography business, like so many, I wanted to do it all. Except weddings, I actually didn’t think I would ever do weddings. But back to the point… I photographed families, maternity, newborns, graduations, yogis, concerts, and repeat. I was meant to be a photographer, not realizing I was pulling myself in all the wrong directions.

In 2012, I had two couples put their faith in me and asked if I wanted to, actually more told me, that I could shoot their weddings. I did, and to my surprise, I freaking loved it. Eight years and countless weddings later, I am still in the game and love capturing each couple’s story.

That same year, a friend wanted to do a boudoir session. I had always wanted to get into boudoir, but I felt unsure where to start, how to get women in the studio, to trust me and the process. But when we started, it ignited something inside of me. I realized that by me connecting with my client one-on-one, I was reaching new levels of intimacy and connection in my business and in life. I was helping my clients find their confidence, empowering them to love every inch of their skin, and realize how truly beautiful they are.

A few years ago, I made the decision to specialize in two areas of photography. I photograph weddings (and engagements/proposals) and boudoir. By specializing as a wedding and boudoir photographer in Lethbridge, I am passionate about capturing and telling every client’s story. Because I am passionate about those two areas of photography, you get the best of me each time.

There are amazing newborn and family photographers in Lethbridge. We trusted Janita DeKok Photography with our newborn/family photos when our daughter, Goldie, was born and again when she was 6 months. I also have had Sheree Hartung Photography capture Goldie when she was 9 days old, and again at 5 months.

So what am I getting at? I shoot proposals, engagement photos, weddings, and boudoir photography, and nothing else. There are other great photographers that are amazing at newborn, family and corporate photos, and I choose to leave it to them to create that magic.

Thank you to all the bad-ass women who continually trust me to show up for you and be your boudoir photographer. And thank you to all the couples who have put arguably one of the most important days of your lives, in my hands to capture and keep for you.
