Lambie & Chris | Stewart Creek Country Club Canmore Wedding
Somehow in 2016, this Southern Alberta girl was lucky enough to have two weddings in the Rocky Mountains. If you know me well... you probably know how much I love the Alberta landscape. Everything from the prairies, to the incredible Rocky Mountains and everything in between. Whether I am standing in the mountains or I can see them in the distance... they just DO something to me, they calm my soul.
With that being said, when Lambie contacted me to photograph their wedding I was so excited for the two of them. I worked with Lambie at the City of Edmonton, and most shifts we had together Chris came up into the conversation. She was completely smitten from day one I think, and this was a dream come true. As we tend to do, talking about the future and getting married came up into conversations. I knew they were a forever couple. Unfortunately for me, Lambie and Chris moved to Calgary for school and work and time passed. But then one day Lambie emailed me that they were engaged, and having a Canmore wedding!
Their friends and family came from all over Canada to come to witness their marriage and celebrate at their October marriage at Stewart Creek Golf and Country Club in Canmore. A fall wedding, just like her mom and dad, with a slightly unexpected, but magical snowfall. Lambie looked perfect in her satin ballgown and heirloom pearls, and Chris looked handsome in his navy suit and light blue tie.
There is something so elegant about navy as a detail in a wedding. Lambie's sapphire earrings, the girls' unique dresses and tartan wraps, the boys' suits and blue tartan around the cake.
Their nieces sprinkled white rose petals down the aisle, and their nephew handed off the rings but wasn't up for the walk down the aisle with everyone else. Lambie and Chris locked eyes as she walked towards him, and I could feel their excitement of becoming husband and wife.
Lambie and Chris, we wish you a world of happiness and a forever of love together. Your wedding day was truly so beautiful, to witness your love and marriage was a blessing, and we are so happy we were a part of it.
