Ashley and Marc Andre were married in August at the St. Albert Grain Elevators and had their reception at Windermere Golf and Country Club.  I think both the bride and groom were very nervous for the wedding, but once the ceremony was over, the nerves slipped away and they were able to enjoy their wedding day.

I first met the couple at Edmonton's Bridal Fantasy in January of 2016, and I felt pretty dang excited (and honoured) that they booked me before they had even booked their ceremony or reception venue.  We did their engagement photos at the University of Alberta the summer before their wedding.  One, the U of A campus is gorgeous. AND, engagement sessions are a great opportunity to get comfortable with each other in front of the camera.

When I sat down with the couple before their wedding Marc Andre placed a plate full of delicious cookies he had made (ummm… hello, husband material!) We went over their timeline, family photo list, other vendor contact information, etc.  Ashley mentioned she HAD to have a veil photo.  It has become my thing… and ever since this photo, a few of my brides have purchased a long veil so they can have their own unique photo.

With that in mind, and cookies in my belly, I was counting down the days until their wedding!

Marc Andre serves our country, and with that great honour and great responsibility comes a little... access let's say... We went to The Base to take some photos with the tanks that Marc Andre services in his career.  I don't think I will ever get the chance to have someone move a tank for me again, so this whole day was quite the experience.

The reception was full of beautiful emotion, tears from moms and dads, a few jabs and lots of laughs! When we were able to sneak the couple out for some sunset photos after supper, we were gifted with some gorgeous summer light and scenery.
