Aaron & Jesse | Yellowhead Brewery Wedding
Aaron and Jesse got married last November at the Yellowhead Brewery in Edmonton. You would think that planning a November wedding you would likely have to worry about sweaters or jackets or boots, the fact that there will probably be snow and it will more than likely be cold... But it wasn't! We had one of the warmest days, we didn't freeze doing the outdoor rooftop portraits, and no jackets obstructed anyone's dance moves. This couple had me from their very first email, where Aaron told me how they are the "parents of two rescue kitties, a mischievous brown and black tabby named Bronx and a one-eyed orange tabby named Theo." They are avid football fans, he cheers for Edmonton and she cheers for Calgary (nothing wrong with a healthy rivalry), and they live in the lovely community of Bowness in Calgary. The biggest thing I got from that first email, they were focused on the marriage and not just the wedding. They were not worried about all of the wedding website's to do lists, thousands spent on a wedding dress and accessories, the must-have florals, or anything like that. And that folks, is why I do what I do. Yes, I absolutely want to make sure you have beautiful lasting photos of your wedding day, the day you became husband and wife. But I want you two to enjoy the day together, and be present together, and experience your first day as a married couple. She got married wearing a little white lace dress she got from The Bay, and he wore blue jeans and cowboy boots.Aaron and Jesse wanted to focus on the ceremony and capturing their friends and family enjoying the evening. I will spoil it... the couple, their friends and family... and us... ALL enjoyed the evening! Fabulous food and drinks from the Yellowhead Brewery, donuts instead of cake from Moonshine and Jelly Modern, awesome music, and even better company.Aaron's bridesmaids did her hair, she wore her Grandmother's wedding hairpiece, had a first look with her mom and dad... but we unexpectedly near ran INTO her dad on the sidewalk while walking to the venue, so we did their first look on the sidewalk in front of the hotel. She made her bouquet, the bridesmaids' lanterns, the boys' boutonnieres, and all the décor at the Yellowhead. Jesse compiled lists, and schedules and kept everyone organized.
