Leah & Derek | Ice Castle Engagement Session

The perk to booking your wedding a year in advance... is we go through a whole year of seasons before your wedding, which gives us the opportunity to give a COMPLETELY different look for your engagement photos.

Leah, Derek and I headed to the Edmonton Ice Castle for their engagement session in January.  We, fortunately, live in a climate where we can have literal ice castles, but the flipside of that... we live in a climate where it is so cold the air hurts your face. We didn't have the opportunity to take coats and mittens off for too long before the shivers started, and hands got really cold.  Leah and Derek were troopers for their engagement session, even being brave enough to go down the ice slides on crazy carpets.

They had their first date at Starbucks, so naturally, I rewarded them with a Starbucks at the end of the night.  I used that opportunity for a few more pictures before we went home and warmed up with hot water bottles and all the blankets (well not quite that cold...)

Check out the preview from their wedding at Greystone Gardens.
