Samantha & Hans | Tunnel Mountain Wedding in Banff Alberta
A wedding in the Rocky Mountains. This may be a dream for many, but Samantha and Hans made it their dream come true with their ceremony at Tunnel Mountain Reservoir and a reception at Bison Restaurant & Terrace.
I first met these two at their rehearsal, yes their rehearsal. You see, they traveled with their family and friends to Banff from Central New York. I "met" Samantha online through her inquiry on Wedding Wire, and we emailed back and forth for months before their wedding about her dress, finding jackets for the boys, officiants, locations and different photo ideas. From the first message I knew we would be friends, and I am so happy that I was able to capture their Banff wedding. Because they live in Central New York, planning a wedding from across the country, and in another country had a few challenges. Because I have my Wedding Coordinator Certificate from WPIC, I was able to help plan and do some research for the couple.Incredible vendors were a part of this wedding, I love meeting and working with new people in the industry. Forget-Me-Not Flowers put together the florals, and Jason Delaney played guitar for the ceremony and cocktail hour. The Bison Restaurant & Terrace put together an amazing feast of food... and I am still hearing about how Hans missed all the appetizers because we were taking pictures for too long... sorry not sorry Hans. :) Samantha's aunts, Nancy and Virgina made the invitations, and Simply Sweet did the cake. The girls from Lilies and Lace Beauty Company came to the Fox Hotel and Suites to do the hair and makeup for the bridal party. California Dream Limousine came from Calgary to transport the bridal party between locations.Samantha's dress is Maggie Sottero from Phia James Bridal Boutique in New Hartford New York, and Hans and his groomsmen wore pieces that they can wear separately. Their jackets are from Tommy Hilfiger, pants from Mountain Khakis, shirts from J.Crew and their ties from Express. Proof that you don't have to do the one-stop shop, or stick with "the norm" and go to a store that exclusively sells/rents suits and tuxedos. Samantha's bridesmaid wore dresses in the same colour, with the maid of honour wearing a slightly different neckline.Samantha and Hans, thank you for trusting the stranger on the internet ;). Thank you for trusting me with your wedding day, for choosing me from all the photographers you messaged, and for being great friends. Sonya and I felt like your friends, and your guests were so welcoming... even with their "you don't have accents", and "you say eh a lot hey?"... oh and "do you all speak French?" It was a pleasure to have spent a day in the Rockies with you, and I truly hope you all enjoyed your time in Canada! I can't wait to have you back again. I am so happy you came into my life, and for all the adventures life is going to bring you.xo,K
